![]() ![]() From the review: “Snowtape is an internet radio player for the Mac, a one-of-a-kind app that looks good as it blasts your tunes. Sporting a slick, dark, interface, Snowtape is like an iTunes for your iRadio, helping you browse through thousands of stations and even import your own.”įast forward 2 months. I remember there’s this music app I have to test. I get accepted into the beta testing group. I’m sad, upset, I wanna talk about the app. ![]() ![]() I woke up this morning with the feeling something good was about to happen. Checking out didn’t help, nothing was apparently new. But wait, I’ve got an email from Vemedio telling me Snowtape for iPhone is out. Here we are folks, talking about one of the most beautiful and useful music applications for iPhone to date. Snowtape for iPhone is one of the best looking apps currently available in the App Store. Being designed by Iconlicious, Marcelo and Emanuel put their seal quality on an iPhone app once again, creating a UI design that combines both native and highly custom elements and yet has a very consistent feeling throghout all the parts you’ll end up tapping on. It’s powered by a dark, stylish design, crisp icons and buttons, gorgeous previews and sliders that will make every pixel fetishist out there happy to use it. It’s a pleasure to look at and, pay attention, it’s a joy to use. thank you U Management and Ultra Records :) in terms of the song itself, we wanted to make a fun and summery song that people can groove to at home and feel like they're at the beach.Snowtape for iPhone allows you to listen to internet radio, record songs and keep them cached on your iPhone for future usage. it was also an absolute pleasure working with Tep No and his team, who all could not have been nicer/more helpful as we worked through our first proper release. very cool to say that we both got our first track on a major label together. some may remember our remix to "Sugar We're Goin' Down," which was our first track to be played at EDC (shout out to Yultron!). but this is probably our most exciting post yet! this song is special for a few reasons, not the least of which being that it's with our long time collaborator and friend Joey (SEPPIE). Sorry about the delay on the post - lots going on in the world and our lives right now. it's still 1000% us though, hope this one makes you say "wait, what?" :) and finally, this track keeps very true to our name and doesn't quite fit in the genre-lane that many of our previous releases have. we're super excited to be getting something out with him again after the remix! another cool thing about this song is that it features Troy on the guitar, which he has been trying to teach himself since the covid lockdowns started (i'm still very bad lol - Troy). since then, we've been in contact frequently to talk music, critique demos, and try some original song ideas out. he sent these vocals to us back in July and we had a feeling pretty quickly that this was going to be our first original release together. first off, we've been friends via music with Sweez since he reached out to remix his track "Brokenhearted" with MRG back in February 2019. Pretty much back to back with releases here! after dropping the remix for Vanic on Monday (which was incredibly cool for us), we have another track that means a lot to us. though it was a very long journey, the song finally got to reach its full potential thanks to Akacia's amazing writing/performance and we couldn't be happier to finally release this baby of ours :) we went through a couple rounds of revisions/recording and just kept getting more and more excited about what the song was turning into. we sent this one over - at the time simply titled "uppity" - and Akacia jumped on it right away. So in early February of 2021 we sent a different beat to Akacia to work together on, and much to our surprise she responded and seemed down to collaborate with us! we agreed that the particular beat we sent probably wouldn't be a good fit, but she was open to hearing some other demos. we still loved the beat, but let it slide to the back of our minds as we focused on our newer tracks in 2020 and beyond. we had a couple different situations that seemed like they would work out over the years, but nothing ever came of it. we made about 60% of this instrumental and really really liked what we had, so we slowly started shopping it around to singers/producers to collaborate on. So we'll need to go all the way back to 2017, right after Troy graduated college, to start this song's story. ![]()
